Florida's Christmas Tree Ornaments in Washington, D.C.

These ornaments carry the names of waterways that flow in and out of State and National Parks in Florida.  The clean water of these beloved rivers and estuaries are threatened, even as generations of Floridians work together to save them.  Janeen Mason (a national award winning author/illustrator) from the Solidarity Fish Project, along with nonprofit, MotherOcean, invited children, scientists, environmentalists, and explorers to paint these colorful healthy fish in stark contrast to the black and white skeletons of those in peril.  Our diverse and enthusiastic group gathered to paint these fish at Florida Oceanographic Society, located on the Indian River Lagoon, while we shared wisdom, ideas, and hope that by working together we will turn this around.
